Adéla Kučerová
Hello! My name is Adéla and I’m currently a third-year English for Translators and Interpreters student. Outside of my studies, I’m passionate about music, especially singing. I also enjoy playing video games such as Valorant, League of Legends, and many more. I love reading, mainly fantasy and sci-fi, and I have a deep interest in mythology and world history. (I also like anime lol) Anddd I like chinchillas! Feel free to reach out to me anytime! I’m always happy and ready to help!
Adéla Janačíková
Hi! My name is Adéla and I’m a fifth-year English Philology and History student. Unfortunately, I don't have a knack for linguistics (please don’t ask me about phonetics and syntax), but if you want to chat about literature or get some recommendations, I’m the right guy. In my free time, I’m passionate about non-academic reading, dancing, music and lazing around. Concerning music, I play cajon in the department’s band KAAmarádi. You are also looking at a hater, so if you want to complain or angry-rant about anything, I probably hated on it already, so hit me up.
Anita Petrušová
Howdy! My name is Anita and I'm a third-year translation and interpreting (ATP) student. I was in your shoes not that long ago, and I know how daunting all of this can be, so I am here to lend a helping hand (or a sympathetic ear) where I can. My main area of interest is video game localisation, something I’ve been pursuing for several years now, mainly as a hobby. When not in my (uni-assigned or otherwise) translation trenches, I enjoy drawing, mostly digitally, D&D and story-heavy video games.
Barbora Damková
My name is Barbora (Damková) and I am a second-year master’s student of the English Philology. Within my English studies, I have a particular interest in linguistics, especially morphosyntax and syntax, which I’m always happy to help with. If you happen to encounter any issues related to cross-faculty studies, especially those involving the Faculty of Science, feel free to reach out. Outside of academics, I’m involved in scouting, enjoy sport climbing, and I play guitar in the department’s band KAAmarádi. I look forward to meeting you and wish you a successful start to your studies!
Jana Kulichová
Hi, my name is Jana Kulichová—but most people call me Janča! I’m a fifth-year student of English Philology at KAA. At the same time, I study Mathematics for Teaching at the Faculty of Science, so feel free to contact me—especially with problems concerning cross-faculty studies, as those can get quite tricky! But of course, I’m here to help with anything any student might be struggling with. My goal is to become a teacher of Mathematics and English, but that’s not my whole personality. I love spending time outdoors—especially camping—I’m a runner, an avid reader, and last but not least, a member of KAA’s own musical group, KAAmarádi. You're more than welcome to join us if you're musically inclined (or just curious)!
Jiří Vítek
Hey! I’m Jirka, a third-year translation and interpreting student. I know starting uni can be a lot at once, so I’m here to help make your beginning a bit smoother—whether it’s figuring out your schedule, choosing courses, or just understanding how things work. Outside of uni, I’m into computers and enjoy hanging out with my cat.
Jolana Šnajdrová
Hi, I’m Jolana and I’m currently in my second year of my master's degree. I’m studying English and German philology, and I’m a rather introverted café lounger and lover of good food and books. I’ll be happy to help you with anything that has to do with linguistics or tips on where to get the best chai latte in Olomouc, so if you need any advice regarding university, best and cheapest places to eat at, or if you just want to complain about the life of a student, feel free to reach out.
Karolína Chybová
Hi! I’m Karolína, I study English Philology (major) and History (minor), currently focusing mostly on literature. I’ve just started my fifth year at uni. If you ever feel lost in planning your semester or juggling deadlines, I’m your person. I’ve been known to colour-code my to-do lists for relaxation. Outside of academics, I work with a non-profit that runs summer camps and smaller events for kids throughout the year. I also sing in the department band KAAmarádi, so feel free to come say hi at one of our gigs! I know the start of uni can feel like a maze, so if you need help navigating it (or just want to nerd out about books), don’t hesitate to reach out.
Oliver Kout
Good morning/afternoon/evening! I’m Oliver. I am a third-year ATP student. In my free time, I mostly walk around the city, so if you ever need help with finding a classroom, a university building, or just some place nice, I’m your guy. Anyhoot, I also co-organise FF UP’s board game club, so if you ever feel like you miss playing Člověče, nezlob se, feel free to reach out to me.
Sandra Polzerová
Hi! I’m Sandra, and I’m currently in my second year of my master’s degree. I prefer literature over linguistics, so if you want to draw trees, I must ask you to ask someone else (trust me, in like a year, you will get the joke). I’m happy to help with anything related to university life—whether it’s course selection, deadlines, or simple survival of exam period. I also know my way around town, so if you need some recommendations for a good drink or coffee, don’t hesitate to ask. I also help organise department events, so if you’d like to get involved or have ideas, feel free to reach out. Outside of school, I love climbing, hiking, and naturally reading. We are all here for you, so if you need help with anything, please ask.
